And God Gives...

Craig is obviously too busy to post this news, so I guess I'll do it for him. Today his wife Christina gave birth to a baby girl, Lucy Danielle. I'm very excited for them and, of course, for the opportunity to be an honorary uncle! Sixteen days and I'll get to see my biological niece and now my new niece in Christ!

Posts of greater substance will probably emerge once finals are completed. I will likely have a number of things to share over break as I read through James McClendon's Systematic Theology and Steve Harmon's Towards Baptist Catholicity. Today at lunch with two fellow divinity students and converts to Roman Catholicism, Kelly was asked why, when she likes such people as Henri de Lubac and Thomas Aquinas so much, thatnot only is she not Catholic but so far away from Catholicism as to be Baptist! I hope that Harmon's book will do much to help both of us flesh out our answers even more. I'm sure it will also make for even more interesting conversations between Craig and I (as if they weren't interesting enough).

Loving God, we thank you for bringing Lucy to us.
We trust you for the future
as we seek to teach her about you.
Help us to be generous in time and gifts,
giving and receiving with humility and patience,
encouraging and supporting
as we lead her to walk together with us in our shared journey of life and faith.
We pray with confidence
in the name of the Savior, Jesus CHrist
who is Lord of our fellowship. Amen.
